I watched Bowling for Columbine and as far as a movie goes it wasn't bad. To call it a documentary is kind of like calling the bible a history book.

Moore doesnt annoy me as much as "Rage Against the Machine"...yeah lets rage against the machine that we use to distribute our bad records and sell our tickets...... come on now.

I saw "Roger and Me" shortly after it came out, probably ten years ago or something. Loved his show "The Awful Truth" ... but then he started to write (egad! he's no writer) and "Bowling for Columbine" was a bit over the top, although the Kmart bit was pretty good. His endorsement of Wesley Clark, IMO, lost him alot of credibility.

I'm pretty sure MM has nothing against 'oil' or even oil companies per se. He's smart enough to know that a bicycle has uses, but is not always the superior form of transport.

Rather, he, like me, dislike oil companies securing their profits by using the U.S. military as paid mercenaries. I'm one of those paying for the military and I'm glad we have one. But I want it to protect my home, not be used as a killing tool to insure oil companies stay in the black.

1) They aren't bad records.
2) Yes, they used the "machine" to distribute their records. But bands such as RATM and Radiohead don't have much of a choice. Doesn't do much good to have a message if you only sell 800 records. Sometimes it is necessary to compromise your beliefs for the greater good.
3) After 9/11, several radio stations wouldn't play RATM because their songs were considered anti-government and unpatriotic. So I guess that proves they really were raging against the machine, huh?
